Do dogs feel love like humans?
Dogs even have the hormone oxytocin, which, in humans, is involved with feeling love and affection for others. ... Thus we can look to the human research to see what we might expect of our dogs. Like a young child, dogs will clearly have emotions, but many fewer kinds of emotions than we find in adults

Do dogs have personalities like their owners?
The idea that a dog takes on the personality of its owner has received scientific support. Researchers in Austria say dogs can mirror the anxiety and negativity of owners. And dogs that are relaxed and friendly can pass this on to humans, perhaps helping their owners cope with stress
